About Independence Pro Plumbing
A call-first plumbing company on Taylor Mill Road, serving Independence and nearby Northern Kentucky towns.
Who we are
Independence Pro Plumbing is a licensed and insured plumbing company based at 6437 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051, in Kenton County. We serve homeowners and businesses in Independence and the nearby towns of Taylor Mill, Elsmere, Erlanger, Edgewood and Walton. Our office sits on Taylor Mill Road, one of the main roads through the city, so we know the streets, the subdivisions and the age of the homes we are called to.
We run on the phone. There is no booking form on this site, because most plumbing trouble is easier to sort out in a two minute conversation. You call, describe the problem and dispatch plans the visit with you.
How we work
Every job starts with finding the cause. A plumber looks at the problem, explains what is wrong in plain language and gives you a clear price before work starts. If the fix is small, we say so. If it is bigger, we lay out the options.
The emergency line is open 24/7. Same-day appointments are offered when the schedule allows, and we never promise an arrival time we cannot keep.
Licensing and insurance
Our plumbers are licensed and insured. Plumbing in Kentucky is overseen by the Division of Plumbing in the state Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction, and you are welcome to verify any plumber's license with the Division before you hire.
Permit rules vary, so when a job may need one, we point you to the Kentucky Division of Plumbing or your city office instead of guessing.
What we work on
Our work falls into five groups. Drain cleaning, hydro jetting and sewer work cover the lines that carry waste out of the house. Water heater repair, replacement and installation cover hot water. Leak detection, burst pipes and water lines cover everything that carries clean water in.
The last two groups are fixtures and installations, such as toilets, faucets, disposals and new plumbing, and basements and commercial work, such as sump pumps and waterproofing. The full list is on the services page.
What counts as an emergency
Active flooding, a burst pipe, sewage backing up into the house and no water at all are emergencies, and the 24/7 line is for them. A gas smell is different. Leave the building and call 911 first, then call us once everyone is safe.
A slow drain, a dripping faucet, a toilet that runs or a water heater that is only lukewarm can usually wait for the next appointment. Call anyway, because dispatch can book the first opening and tell you what to do in the meantime.
What happens when you call
Dispatch asks four things: what you see, where it is, whether water is still running and whether anyone is in danger. If water is flowing, we ask you to close the main shutoff valve and, if the area is wet, switch off power to it from the panel only if that is safe.
Then we plan the visit with you. Emergencies and same-day requests are scheduled as the day allows, and we tell you honestly what is possible. We do not promise an arrival time.
The plumber diagnoses the problem on site, explains the cause and gives a clear price before work starts. You decide whether to go ahead.
When the problem is not ours
Some trouble belongs to the utility or the city. The Northern Kentucky Water District owns the water line from the main to the meter, so a leak on that stretch is the district's to fix. Sewer problems in the public main are a matter for Sanitation District No. 1.
If we find that the cause is on the utility side, we say so and point you to the right office. You pay for work that is yours, and we help you spot the work that is not.
Where we work
Independence is home, and nearby we cover Taylor Mill, Elsmere, Erlanger, Edgewood and Walton. Each has its own page with local ZIP codes and the plumbing problems we see there. The service area page shows them all together.
Why local matters
Plumbing here depends on local things. The Northern Kentucky Water District supplies the water and owns the line from the main to the meter. Sanitation District No. 1 handles sewer and stormwater. Homes in Independence range from older houses near the courthouse to subdivisions such as Hartland and Lakefield.
Knowing who owns which pipe, and how old the house is, saves time on almost every call. It also lets us tell you honestly when a problem belongs to the utility and not to you.
